Rock, and roll meets the New Orleans sound with some tasty slide guitar thrown in.
The piano style is what gives it that New Orleans sound. The mix is nice. There is a lot going on here. More than one instrument is usually vamping, and doing fills simultaneously. I can hear it all very well.
Lowell George played with Frank Zappa so he learned that free for all style from him I guess.
My knew favorite track on the album is the last track. Lafayette railroad. It's a real beautiful instrumental. I just close my eyes, and go to a nice place while listening. I love the slide guitar.
I give this album 3.5 stars out of 5
