I really like they world beat sound. It sounds as if they listened to a lot of late 1980's Paul Simon albums. That is a good thing. They aren't in Simons league as songwriters, but the make up for it with youthful energy.
They seem to be willing to try new things. At one point they even use auto tune which I hate, but it sounded like they were having fun trying something new. So it sort of worked.
If you enjoy Rhythm with a bit if pop melodies thrown in you will probably enjoy this record. The Rhythm 's are layered, complex, and change frequently enough to keep your attention peaked. The melodies are created mainly by some fine guitar work, and vocals. Hi however the guitar is also used as a rhythm tool as much, if not more than for melody.
It's a fun listen.
I give this album 3.5 stars out of 5.
